What is Dual Fuel Technology?
Dual Fuel Technology
A dual-fuel heating system is capable of using two types of fuel like Natural Gas and Propane. Dual Fuel was an industry game changer for ProCom Heating that provided technology that was not available anywhere else. The system contains gas specific parts that are duplicated for each energy source, providing quality ventless combustion and optimum heat and efficiency. ProCom has also developed the NextGen valve that simplifies the process of setting, and switching, between energy sources.
Previously, there was a selector valve which needed adjusting, potentially adding tools, confusion, and time to the process. But the NextGen valve allows a user to simply connect their energy source to the inlet and the system is ready to use. The regulator will adjust the components to the correct pressure for an amazing heat output.
Simply plug in the ProCom Dual Fuel Ventless and Vented Fireplaces and Inserts and they are ready to heat!
Natural Gas vs. Liquid Propane
Natural gas is an abundant, domestically produced fuel you can count on for your family’s heating needs. It is the cleanest fossil fuel available and is one of the most efficient form of energy as it is composed mostly of methane.
Natural Gas burns cleaner than other fossil fuels and emits lower levels of emissions such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxides. Most natural gas heaters cost less money to operate than wood or oil and unlike other energy sources, 85% of all the natural gas is produced in the U.S.
Natural gas is made up of several gases including propane so propane is a part of natural gas in its raw state. Propane is produced as a by-product of two processes, natural gas processing and petroleum refining and it is separated from Natural Gas and other gases at a processing facility.
Over 90% of the propane used in America is made in the U.S. which reduces our dependence on foreign oil. Propane is also a clean-burning, high-energy alternative fuel that has been used for decades for heating.
On average, propane costs about half as much per BTU as electricity and propane gas fireplaces cost up to 60% less per hour of operation than wood burning fireplaces. But since propane is a petroleum by-product, a spike in oil prices can produce a spike in propane prices.
Usually people who have access to natural gas will pay for a conversion for their Ventless Fireplaces as they will save money in the long run and people who utilize propane for their Ventless Fireplaces usually don’t have access to natural gas.
Dual Fuel Technology Ventless Fireplace System
ProCom’s Dual Fuel Technology Ventless Fireplaces are convenient, low-cost alternatives to traditional wood fireplaces and have no need for an outside duct or chimney.
Our patented Dual Fuel Ventless Fireplace allows for the use of Liquid Propane or Natural Gas in the same unit.
